About Us
Wongdec Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1971. In the early years, we primarily focused on producing series (electric) motors. Our consistent product quality won us market recognition and made us a pioneer in series motors in Taiwan. Wongdec later expanded our motor product line to establish ourselves as a specialized motor manufacturer, and became an original equipment manufacturer for brands such as TECO, AIRLUX, and Tsann Kuen.
In the 1980s, there was a growing consciousness that many modern Taiwanese health issues were caused by diets high in fat and protein, but low in fiber. We had a realization: We could employ our expertise in motor manufacturing to help people quickly adapt to light, high-fiber, plant-based diets. So, in 1989, we took the proactive step of investing in a small household appliance factory, and began independently developing user-friendly food processors designed for healthy living. With this, we officially entered the small household appliance market. In 1993, the Company launched our own Wongdec brand for marketing in Taiwan. Thanks to our food processors’ reliable quality, our comprehensive marketing strategy, our retail presence, and our after-sales service system, we have gained strong affirmation from consumers.
Following the Taiwan government policy of opening up investment in China, Wongdec established our first manufacturing facility in China in 1992. We leveraged advantages from lower labor costs, and beneficial policies in land, facilities, and finances in China, in combination with Taiwan’s highly skilled workforce and advanced technical expertise. We focused on exporting finished products internationally, while continuing to supply motors to Taiwanese businesses operating in China, thereby achieving international division of labor.
In 1993, Yuasa Corporation was facing rising labor costs and raw material price fluctuations in Japan. As a result, they began seeking a Taiwanese manufacturing partner. Although we were still a small/medium enterprise at the time, with limited experience in finished product development, Wongdec seized this opportunity. Our appliance technology was still in the early stages, but Wongdec earned praise from Yuasa for the consistent quality of our motors. As a result, Yuasa decided to provide us with design concepts for premium small household appliances, such as vacuum cleaners and blenders, as well as production management techniques. In 1994, Yuasa technical support and the efforts of Wongdec’s R&D team successfully created Wongdec’s own blender and dry vacuum cleaner models. Our products met Japan’s stringent national standards, then we successfully sold them in Japan – a very difficult market to break into. This marked Wongdec’s first international order.
After taking our first step into the international market, Wongdec moved beyond the domestic-only sales model by establishing an export department. Wongdec began selling our food processors in markets such as Singapore and Thailand, and in 1995, we established a subsidiary in Singapore. Our products have received high satisfaction across Southeast Asian markets. Through our years of dedicated effort, Wongdec’s products have gained strong sales and reviews, both domestically and internationally. We have gradually expanded our line, to now include over a dozen products ranging from blenders, juicers, and fruit and vegetable processors, to vacuum cleaners, juice presses, and meat grinders. With powerful features and modern designs, our appliances are popular and well-received across Europe, the United States, Japan, and other parts of Asia.
As Wongdec has continued to grow, we have remained committed to innovation and progress under the business philosophy of “bringing comfort and enjoyment to everyday life”. We keep developing new products to meet your needs and enhance quality of life, focusing on user-friendly design and great after-sales service. Looking ahead, Wongdec will position ourselves as a brand dedicated to delivering high-quality, multifunctional, user-centric appliances to meet the evolving demands of the market and our customers. Whether you’re a new or returning customer, we thank you for your support!
